Project Description
Environmental treatment systems are rapidly becoming more complex and intricate in an effort to increase remediation efficiencies. Today’s systems operate on finer tolerances and regulatory limits that require regular monitoring and upkeep. Operations, maintenance and monitoring encompass the broad spectrum of services required to assure the constructed treatment and monitoring systems perform the functions for which they were originally designed.
Equipoise personnel have designed and implemented operation and maintenance programs for numerous types of treatment systems on both small and large scales.
- In-Situ Chemical Oxidation
- Natural Attenuation Monitoring
- Soil Vapor Extraction
- Dual Phase Extraction
- Air / Biosparging
- Reactive Zone Technologies
- In-Well Air Stripping
- Recirculation Well Systems
Former Air Frame Manufacturing Facility, Anaheim, California
Problem: A former aerospace manufacturing facility had been closed by a regulatory agency and then chlorinated solvents were detected in soil vapors. Regulatory agency and new property owner required remediation installation and operation without impacting current business operation.
Strategy: A network of 128 soil vapor wells were installed and connected to multiple extraction units via horizontal drilling technology.
Result: The remediation system was installed and the SVE system has been operated for several years with minimal impact on current business operations. Closure discussions are on-going with the regulatory agency.
